monday fun

Hey bloggers This week we had a monday fun day we had a slip n slide we went   swimming and played games. My favorite parts was swimming because it was hot. My least favorite  part was pulling Izzy and Abby around . When we were playing games me and ashana found a red worm caterpillar hybrid we tried to take a photo with it but it was too small.  Have a look at some of the photos.

The lovely year of 2017

Hey bloggers. It is coming to the end of 2017. That means the summer holidays! I remember when It was my  first day of being a senior. Well, I want to blog about the 1 thing that was the highlight of my year.

  Orienteering

Orienteering  Is the first zones I ever was in I liked running around looking for letters  with the help of a slip of paper and the last letter you needed was in the most muddies part of the park. In practices I learnt how to use a map I leant how to use those orienteering post things .  Have a look at some photos of the day.

Think hat slideshow gala

Hey bloggers. For the past few weeks  we made a slideshow about our gala day  we used our hats Yellow/ positive , blue / thinking, black / negatives , green / creative , white / interesting  , red / feelings . Have a look at my slide show

I found this work a bit challenging Because  didn't really know what to say     for  the blue hat.

Bags for gala day

This term is our gala day. My class the amazing Hauraki  have been making tote bags. To reduce  the plastic bag usage. During this process we were learning how to screen print and sew. We as well learnt how to make pockets and sew different fabrics together .

If you would like to learn how to make tote bags here some instructions. you will need 

Calico 

A sewing machine

Some straps 

Pins 

Iron .

(the non screen printed one) 

1. Gets some calico and cut 2 pieces to the size you want.

2. Pin them together and leave 1 side open 

3. Sow  the pinned sides and pull the the pins out as you go 

4. Iron it 

5. Cut your straps 70cm each .

6.Pin you starps to your bags.

7. Sow a square and do that again x4 

8. Iron it 1 more time .

You have just made your first bag .

You will need 

Ink

Squeegee 

Screen 

1 piece of Calico 

Newspaper

3 Friends 

1. Put newspaper on your surface and put you piece of clico 

on top.

2. Put screen on top of you calico and put a bit of ink on you screen 

3. make your freinds  hold down the screen hard.

4. Hold your squeegee at a 360 degree angle 

5. Pull squeegee hard across screen you have just made your frist screen print .

                                             I found this work hard because I sew the bag in a twist.
                                I thought before that working a sewing machine was hard now I find it easy .

Gala day

Hey bloggers . Its Jasmine here last week we made digital posters for our gala.
we added where the gala is ,
 what is going to be at the gala.
And some of our own personal touches 
(e.g , backgrounds , animals , fonts , etc ).
we will be selling things like paper , tote bags , soap , etc . the cool thing about all these products  are that there sustainable.

I found this work easy because we could do what ever we wanted to advertises this day.

Jasmine nz journey in maths

Hey bloggers. It's me, Jasmine. For the past two weeks we have been doing a journey around nz on a budget every day we would get $500   to send in a place eg: Dunedin we choosed a car a hotel and some activities   have a look at 1 of my slide 

In Oamaru  you can visit steampunk, get a guided tour of the small blue penguins, get a tour of Mr Ross's farm or Visit Dot's amazing castle and have lunch . I have chosen steampunk and the tour of the small blue penguins.

This work was hard because we had a budget .

My pepeha

Hello bloggers,

It's Jasmine.  This week Te Waka Ako publish their pepeha. A pepeha is a piece of writing in Maori that introduces you and your family . Mrs McLellan explained   

 what a extended  pepeha is that has your sister, brother, koro and kuia ( grandpa and grandma ).

Have a look at my one .

I  found this  hard because I needed to fit two of my  grandmas on the same line .
I notice that I don't have a lot of family compared to other people.
