monday fun

Hey bloggers This week we had a monday fun day we had a slip n slide we went   swimming and played games. My favorite parts was swimming because it was hot. My least favorite  part was pulling Izzy and Abby around . When we were playing games me and ashana found a red worm caterpillar hybrid we tried to take a photo with it but it was too small.  Have a look at some of the photos.

The lovely year of 2017

Hey bloggers. It is coming to the end of 2017. That means the summer holidays! I remember when It was my  first day of being a senior. Well, I want to blog about the 1 thing that was the highlight of my year.

  Orienteering

Orienteering  Is the first zones I ever was in I liked running around looking for letters  with the help of a slip of paper and the last letter you needed was in the most muddies part of the park. In practices I learnt how to use a map I leant how to use those orienteering post things .  Have a look at some photos of the day.

Think hat slideshow gala

Hey bloggers. For the past few weeks  we made a slideshow about our gala day  we used our hats Yellow/ positive , blue / thinking, black / negatives , green / creative , white / interesting  , red / feelings . Have a look at my slide show

I found this work a bit challenging Because  didn't really know what to say     for  the blue hat.

Bags for gala day

This term is our gala day. My class the amazing Hauraki  have been making tote bags. To reduce  the plastic bag usage. During this process we were learning how to screen print and sew. We as well learnt how to make pockets and sew different fabrics together .

If you would like to learn how to make tote bags here some instructions. you will need 

Calico 

A sewing machine

Some straps 

Pins 

Iron .

(the non screen printed one) 

1. Gets some calico and cut 2 pieces to the size you want.

2. Pin them together and leave 1 side open 

3. Sow  the pinned sides and pull the the pins out as you go 

4. Iron it 

5. Cut your straps 70cm each .

6.Pin you starps to your bags.

7. Sow a square and do that again x4 

8. Iron it 1 more time .

You have just made your first bag .

(screen printing steps )

You will need 

Ink

Squeegee 

Screen 

1 piece of Calico 

Newspaper

3 Friends 

1. Put newspaper on your surface and put you piece of clico 

on top.

2. Put screen on top of you calico and put a bit of ink on you screen 

3. make your freinds  hold down the screen hard.

4. Hold your squeegee at a 360 degree angle 

5. Pull squeegee hard across screen you have just made your frist screen print .

                                             I found this work hard because I sew the bag in a twist.
                                I thought before that working a sewing machine was hard now I find it easy .

Gala day

Hey bloggers . Its Jasmine here last week we made digital posters for our gala.
we added where the gala is ,
 what is going to be at the gala.
And some of our own personal touches 
(e.g , backgrounds , animals , fonts , etc ).
we will be selling things like paper , tote bags , soap , etc . the cool thing about all these products  are that there sustainable.

I found this work easy because we could do what ever we wanted to advertises this day.

Jasmine nz journey in maths

Hey bloggers. It's me, Jasmine. For the past two weeks we have been doing a journey around nz on a budget every day we would get $500   to send in a place eg: Dunedin we choosed a car a hotel and some activities   have a look at 1 of my slide 

In Oamaru  you can visit steampunk, get a guided tour of the small blue penguins, get a tour of Mr Ross's farm or Visit Dot's amazing castle and have lunch . I have chosen steampunk and the tour of the small blue penguins.

This work was hard because we had a budget .

My pepeha

It's Jasmine.  This week Te Waka Ako publish their pepeha. A pepeha is a piece of writing in Maori that introduces you and your family . Mrs McLellan explained   

 what a extended  pepeha is that has your sister, brother, koro and kuia ( grandpa and grandma ).

I  found this  hard because I needed to fit two of my  grandmas on the same line .
I notice that I don't have a lot of family compared to other people.

Crazy science

Hello bloggers today in the hall was a crazy science show 😱😱😱.

The people that had hosted it  were Robin and Richard. 

  I like when Richard  got powder from a baby nappy and put it in a cup and poured wee in it and  the wee turned solid 😆😆😆.   

I also enjoyed when Richard  made the big bubbles. They were huge. I could cover one of our Tv's.
I now want to be a scientist when I grow up.
I hope that we do more science in the future.

Camp slideshow

Hey blogging world. Last week was the best that ever happened to me:  camp. There were so many things to do: ski ⛷⛷ or snowboard ( you could only choose one ), we did sledding, we could go on the chair lift, go to the cafe and slide down the slide, have snow ball fight, and make snowmen. We made a slideshow about what we did. Have a look.



I found skiing hard because I was always falling down.  I liked adding all the pictures at camp. I enjoyed the Lasagna with Spinach, Beef Stew, winning a chocolate bar, have a room with my friends.  I didn't enjoy the salad, the Conveyor belt that brought you up with your Sled (so annoying), falling over, and getting water tipped on me 😡 .  I notice that skiing is pretty hard. Hope you enjoyed my slideshow.

my playground

Today we made a playground using tinker cad a online website that let you made 3 d Landscape Mr riceman challenge us to make a playground for the Juniors  .
We must of made a screencastify  i made mine have a theme SPACE. on here there is a Space ship ,Slides ,Spinney things, Butterfly,PAC man eating a moon,Play House , sitting area  , par core and monkey bars . Here is my video.   

This work was hard because there so so many thing to choose from i think i can improve it maybe I could add more items .

I notice that it must be hard to be a Architect .

Cybersmart

In Cybersmart with Gerhard  we learnt to make a good blog comment. We made a drawing called "AH Blog Commenting Sentence Starters Template."  We did a thoughtful, helpful and positive sentence and combined it in the blue square. We went on a Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atu 
blog. I choose Antonio from Wesley Intermediate. The blog post I used was his "My People" post. Have a look at my work below.

I found this work hard because this piece  of work was so good I didn't think I needed  to write a question and a helpful statement.

tent makeing

Hello blogging world. This week we made tents for gemoatery we used.

• modelling clay
• tooth picks
• art paper

 There was lots of different shape Triangles,Circle,Squires,Hexagons,Octagons,Pentagons.

Have a look at my one.

• Mine has a simple pyramid with Hammock  poles and defence. inside you can eat and relax .
• the Hammock poles are where you hang your Hammock to sleep
• defence is a lazer wall so any wolfs , bears,snakes,robbers they be inconsiderate.  

I found the work hard because you had to use so much modding clay to stick a tooth pick on because i needed to use more .

I notice the the square base is the best to hold up the tooth picks.

different kinds of sentences

This week in the novelist writing group we learnt about  different kinds of sentences. We used  different kinds of sentences  to talk about our holidays. Have a look at mine.

I went to my Pop and Oma's in the holidays and we watch a movie. ( compound sentence)  

Driving very quickly, I went to my Pop and Oma's in the holidays. ( complex sentence )

I watch a movie with my Pop .

I watch a movie with my pop and my Cousins .

Sitting down , I watch a movie with my Pop .

I went to circus camp in the holidays.

I went to circus camp in the holidays and i was hanging from the silk .

Hanging from the silks , I went to circus camp in the holidays.


I found this work hard because in the complex sentence you had to start with a ing word. I learnt how to make a complex sentence.

Number of the day

 Last week for math Kahurangi did a number of the day  slide show. You could choose  a 4 digit number and you did different things with it, have a look.
.
This work was a little challenging but the rest was easy because you could have any number you wanted you could just have 1111 or 1234.
I noticed that you could do lots of things with a 4 digit number.
My Favorite part was making the word problem.
My least favourite bit was writing 1258   again and again and again .

Hello blogging world 2 or 3 weeks ago Possums2u  made some info graphics about the Royal Albatross that lives in Dunedin. Have a
look.
 
I thought this work was hard because you had too research about the Royal Albatross.
I notice that in most info graphics I have read they have lots of circles and pictures only some info graphics have lot of other shapes and  no pictures (just saying) so blog you later. 😝😝😝😝

my blog profile

2 or 3 weeks ago , In Cybersmart we were focusing on making a blog profile to protect our identify. We used befunky.com to do funny thing with our faces. We used thinglink to add connections. I chose these 6 things. 2 thing about myself 2 you tube videos  and 2 websites have a look.

This work was easy and fun because we wrote about our self have a look at be funky a online photo shopper.

Fatu Feu’u art

We made artwork inspired by  Fatu Feu’u, a famous Samoan artist, have a look at my art work .

  We started by make 4 - 6 square and then we drew our patterns and then we stared painting . This work was hard because it was hard to control my paint brush. I am still happy with my work.

anzac writing

We made some writing about our Anzac Experience. Anzac Day is on the 25th of April🐻. i hope you enjoy my writing

Ring  ring ring! ugh is that my cousin alarm clock.

I walked down the hall to see what time  it is 1:00 I need to get back to sleep.

3:00 April 25 wellington I  woke up once more everyone woke up uncle denn got in his navy uniform I asked him why he told me he is in the parade I was  filled with joy. 4:30 April 25 wellington everyone  was ready the cousin lily and me I wore a blue dress with yellow flowers on it well  this it's funny because my cousins not Katelyn but Carlos and Quinn had to wear a tight tux they fall a few 100 times.

4:44 april 25 wellington city we are in the car we were itching to get out we didn’t have breakfast so we all got a hot chocolate from mickey D’s ( mcdonald's ). 5:00  april 25 wellington city we are fanly there we got a place in the front we saw denn all in his navy uniform. 6:00 april 25 wellington city the parade had finished we we got  back in the car.

7:00 april 25 wellington i was starting to itch we had arrived back

at the cousin's  house my dress was so uncomfortable i changed into a black 58 tee shirt and some trousers i new that we were going to roller land i got my roller blades on and then we drove to 11:00 i got my roller blades on   and we started skating we played limbo and 4 corners i won four corners but Quinn won limbo he is so tiny 12:00 aw we have to leave but before we did we got a lolly i got space man candy my cousin said i'm swag .

Well the fun over because we just watch pokemon fusions and played the tramp.

My trench diary

Since it's been Anzac Day we wrote a piece of writing  about what it would be like in the trenches of W.W.1

	blood , rats , bullets , fire ,  no man's land  dead trees , bodies.
	gunshots, soldiers screaming in pain, i hear sounds of rats and soldiers itching because of lice and ticks, coughing.
	I tastes old stale biscuits , slimy meat, jam and rat infested soup,none purified water.
	I smell mud, gun powder, the smell of mice, smoke .
	I feel my gun betty ,some homemade bombs, a card from olly , my gas masks.
	I feel fear running through my veins , my blood getting cuddling up my heart racing.
	This might be my last time writing in this journal .

this work was hard because we didn't know what it would actually be like in the trenches
