Day 2 activity 2 week one.

Hey blogger. Its day 2 of the summer learning journey🎆. For our activity we had to choose if we would or wouldn't want to visit Tāne Mahuta I would because it would be awesome to see that huge kauri tree and if I had a look I would want to save the kauris.I think that everyone in NZ should see it.

  1. Kia ora Jasmine,

Happy New Year! It looks like you have been incredibly busy over the last few weeks. What a nice surprise I got when I came back from my holiday. I am looking forward to reading through all 15 activities that you have completed.

I absolutely agree with you. I think we should all visit Tane Mahuta as it is such a legend here in Aotearoa. According to the Department of Conservation website, Maori legends see Tane Mahuta as the son of Papatuanuku (the earth mother) and Ranginui (the sky father). This is why the beautiful tree is so tall because it is reaching up to his father, Ranginui.

Please remember that these activities should take you around 20 minutes to complete so I am hoping to see a bit more information in your posts. If you would like to earn full points for this activity I would love to see you talking a bit more about why you would like to visit Tane Mahuta. It is sad to think that Tane Mahuta might be infected by the Kauri dieback disease in the near future as it is spreading rapidly. Maybe you could share some information about the Kauri dieback disease and how we could protect Tane Mahuta.

I am looking forward to returning to your post to find more information.

    Keep up the awesome work,
    Megan :)
