My bird art / art show

My Bird Art
Hey bloggers.  For the art show, Hauraki are doing native birds. I did the amazing Kea for some reasons. Why I chose the Kea
1. Because I am the Kea house captain  of course
2. Because it has lots of beautiful colours like green , yellow and black.
My background was a starry night sky with a ocean view . I think I did very well with my bird and background. Here is a photo of my bird.

Art Show
Hey bloggers.
This week on Tuesday, it was the art show. It was very cool and their were cookies to eat but the adults got brownies, sausage rolls, lolly cake and veggies and dip. Yummy!
Here's a quick recount about the art show.

WOW! Look at all of these. It's amazing they're so colourful. The paintings look so real.
On Tuesday it was the art show and I was dropped off so I didn't really go with any one .
First thing that happened after I walked though the door was me asking Mrs Petersen if I could be a waitress ( yes you could be a waitress / waiter  ) she said yes and she gave me a apron. Then when the other waitress / waiters arrived we stared giving out food .
Then we had to finish our shift , silly me I should have told my parents to stay. I was upset till Miss McGrath calm me down. Then I did some weaving  for 3 mins until I got to give out food again.
After the food ran out, all the waitress / waiter went to do the dishes  and after the dishes we hung out till our parents came. I was the last to leave as we finished early so my parent didn't come till 30 mins after. So Miss McGrath  walked me to her car so we could stay warm in till my parents came .
The end

Tiritiri Matangi

Hello bloggers. Thursday 31st May 2018 the seniors of Waikowhai Primary went on a long journey to Tiritiri Matangi.  That included, 1 hour 30 mins ferry boat rides , a 1 hour walk and a scavenger hunt. It  was very fun and there were lot of beautiful  birds. I liked the bush walk because all the birds came so close up.
I Learnt that Kererus can get drunk  and fall out of trees and that Tuis are  predators that scare away other birds.
I think I could make a bird feeder of sugar and water to bring some pollinators to my house. If you like here are some photos you can enjoy.
Me flexing on the beach on Tiritiri
Tui eating some sugar and water
A Kereru getting some water
Longest working Lighthouse in NZ

It was an awesome experience.
I hope your school could go sometime.

Samoan house design

Hey bloggers. For reading crossover we  read a story called  "Building for the  future"
Our job was to make a design that could withstand a flood or tsunami. You could use Tinker cad or some other web sites to make your design. I used auto draw then I made a google slide animation. We had to talk about the aspects and the reason we chose that design. Have a look at my one.

I found this work hard because it took a lot of slides  to make.
I think I could of used the animation features of the google slide next time .

ANZAC

Hi everyone🐹 it's me this week we have been learning about Anzac also known as Australian New Zealand Army Corps .  My class was in charge of placing the crosses
we each placed a cross in 4x8 rows here they are .
I want to say thank to these that sacrificed themselves to give us freedom.
 c.a Fox , a.j Powly , C.H Gathercole ,J.G Hullten ,p . Coomer ,EH. Jones and many more.

On Monday and Tuesday Hauraki read The Anzac Violin and Roly The Anzac Donkey we did a compare and contrast
and compare them here it is .

I learnt that the German people were very mean to animals
and took donkeys from their families.
We also read Le Quesnoy on Wednesday
and we did a pmi map
here's that as well.
I learnt that in Le  Quesnoy there are streets named after  New Zealand
and that the Germans would throw people in jail if they complained.

I Found this work quite enjoyable  because we got to listen to lots of stories.

Our presentation for our inquiry

Hey Bloggers! Today we did our presentations for our inquiry so let me explain what we had to do. We were given a word related to animals ( my group got  arachnids ) and we made a presentation about facts about the group of animals. We could make a dance, play, song or a kahoot. You would present it   to the whole te waka ako  (the whole class) 😖😖😖 .  Have  a look  at my group's presentation.
I found this work hard because when we were planning our presentation  all the boys didn't listen. I learnt lots about arachnids and other groups of animals.

What are animals

Hey bloggers😜. do you ever ask yourself the question: what are animals?
Well if you had (or hadn't) I made a slideshow all about animals and the groups of animals, so here it goes.

I found this work hard because after you write all the things that you know  about the groups of animals you had to do a lot of research
I hope you enjoyed my blog .
